Prepare the Shrimp Paste

  • Vegetable oil 2.0 Tbsp
  • Garlic Clove, chopped 4.0 each
  • Shrimp paste 'kapi' 0.5 Tbsp

Finish the Dish

  • Shrimp, tiger prawns 8.0 each
  • Bitter beans 0.5 cup
  • Sugar 2.0 Tbsp
  • Oyster sauce 1.0 tsp
  • Thai red chili, cut 5.0 each
  1. Prepare the Shrimp Paste

    • Heat vegetable oil in a sauté pan. Add garlic and shrimp paste.
    • Roast the crumbled shrimp paste in the pan until the color changes to a brown from the purplish appearance. Be careful not to burn the paste.
  2. Finish the Dish

    • Add the rest of the paste, shrimp, bitter beans and season with sugar, oyster sauce and fry together until fragrant and cooked. Garnish with the chili and serve with rice.
