  1. Prepare the Rice

    • Add oil to a large stock pot. Add the rice, coat with oil and toast for 2-3 minutes over a medium-high heat.
    • Add all the dry ingredients from the Soup du Jour package, along with the water. (*Notice this recipe calls for ½ of the water stated on the package).
    • Cook for 15-20 min over medium heat, until most of the liquid is absorbed.
    • Cover and finish cooking on low heat for approximately 15-20 minutes more, or until all of the liquid is absorbed.
    • Using a large fork; fluff the rice in a ½ hotel pan before holding.
