Preparation

  1. Cooking mac and cheese

    60 minutes
    • Preheat the oven to 400°F. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the macaroni pasta according to the package directions, usually 7–8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
    • Heat a separate saucepan over medium heat and melt half of the butter. Add the jalapeños and cook until soft and tender, about 3–4 minutes.
    • Let the pan cool slightly, then add the prepared LeGout Cream Soup Base, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, bacon, and salt. Return the pan to a gentle simmer, whisking until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
    • Combine the cooked macaroni and the cheese sauce in a large baking dish. In a small bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and the remaining butter (melted).
    • Top the pasta with the breadcrumb mixture and bake in the oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
TIP: Add diced jalapeños on top of the breadcrumbs for extra heat and flavor.
