I’ve spoken to the board, and they’ve given me the all-clear to hand out some top tips for making the most of traffic during this summer’s soccer games.

Score big with Hellmann’s LTOs

Having a Limited Time Offer (LTO) during big sporting events, like this summer’s soccer games, is like adding an extra player to your team and not getting in trouble for it. It’s basically a cheat code.

Diners are drawn to exclusivity and the chance to try something new for only a short period of time. It’s also a great chance for you to try out new menu items, extensions or flavors without committing to them long-term. Like taking a player on loan - if they work for your team, you can keep them. If not, you can give them back. Winner.

They’re the perfect way to add a point of difference between you and your rivals, giving you a much-needed sales boost at a key time of the year.

73% of diners sometimes or always order an LTO when dining out.

Try these tactics out on your LTOs to make sure they perform at their peak:

1. Make sure your LTO looks good.
Your LTO might sound good on paper but once it’s out on that FOH pitch, it just falls apart. How an LTO looks in POS is a key decision maker for diners, so make sure you pay attention to colors, textures and presentation.

2. Keep your LTO simple.
You don’t need to do all these fancy tricks with your LTOs – just keep them simple and focus on the basics, using ingredients you already have in the kitchen. You can find the best global flavors for your menu here.

3. Focus on value
Make sure the price works for you and the customer. Using really expensive ingredients won’t give you much room to add a significant mark up and if you do, could put potential diners off. The price you set needs to be right for you both.

Elevating your performance through social media.

An online presence is key for your success during this summer’s soccer games, especially as diners will be actively searching online for where to eat. Imagine practising day in, day out for the best burger and fries in all of America and no one even knows about it?!

Now's the time to get the crowds chanting for your dishes and promos by showing them off under the social spotlights.

“90% of people research restaurants online before choosing where to eat, and 72% of these people use social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to find new dining options, check out menus, and make decisions based on the information and reviews they see.”

Here’s 3 ways social media can play in your flavor, I mean favor:

Reviews and Recommendations
Encouraging and sharing positive diner reviews or User Generated Content (UGC) can help influence other diners to try your restaurant out. In fact, 88% of diners trust online reviews as much as or more than personal recommendations. So - if you see Coach say it’s good online, you know it’s good!

Brand awareness
Jumping on social trends and posting regularly helps create a loyal fanbase and strengthens your brand. Make sure to also shout about your LTOs.

Direct ordering
Adding an ‘order now’ button into your Facebook or Instagram profile allows for seamless redirection to your site and easy purchasing for hungry diners. 32% of people visit a restaurant’s website directly after seeing it on social media.

71% of customers are more likely to recommend a restaurant that offers easy online ordering and responds quickly on social media.
