Bohemian Cafe Sauerkraut Soup

1.00 Bay leaf
32.00flozKnorr ultimate pork base, prepared 
1.00headGreen cabbage , shredded
2.00 Potatoes- Idaho , grated
1.00xOnions , sliced
1.00xCarrots , chopped
1.00tbspPaprika
1.00tbspTomato paste
0.50lbBratwurst , smoked sausage, kielbasa, knockwurst, sliced
  Sour cream to garnish
  Croutons, seasoned , garnish

Preparation

1. In a large stock pot, combine ham, sauerkraut, caraway, bay leaf, Pork base, cabbage, potatoes, onion, carrots, paprika and tomato paste. Cover and cook for 45 minutes.
2. Add smoked sausage to the pot and cook for an additional 15 minutes. Adjust seasoning.
3. Garnish with a spoonful of sour cream on top of each bowl of soup. Serve with croutons.
