UNILEVER CHEF RECEIVES HONORARY DOCTORATE

   June 08, 2009, Lisle, Ill.—Unilever Foodsolutions proudly congratulates its Corporate Executive Chef, Steven Jilleba, CMC, CCE, AAC, who was recognized for his distinguished career and positive influence on the culinary community with an honorary Doctor of Culinary Arts degree from Johnson & Wales University Denver Campus on May 23, 2009. Unilever Foodsolutions is honored to include Chef Jilleba on its global solutions-providing team and supports this recognition of his commitment to the culinary and foodservice industries. One of only 61 ACF Certified Master Chefs in the world, Chef Jilleba is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, and is currently a member of the American Culinary Federation (ACF), American Academy of Chefs (AAC) and World Association of Chefs (WACS), among other prestigious culinary organizations. During his 33 year tenure in the culinary profession, Chef Jilleba has received numerous rewards acknowledging his dedication to the industry, including:

  • The AAC Chair’s Medal, 2008—the highest award granted by the organization
  • The ACF Regional Chef Professionalism Award, 2000
  • The Herman Rusch Lifetime Achievement Award (Central region)
  • ACF Chef of the Year and Member of the Year, 1999 
  • ACF Regional Chef of the Year, 2001 
  • ACF Culinary Team USA Manager, 2009-2012 term

   In addition to Chef Jilleba’s other achievements, for the past three years he has worked directly with the Culinary Institute of America on behalf of Unilever Foodsolutions to co-produce the Savoring The Best of World Flavors DVD series. Chef Jilleba has hosted the series, introducing foodservice chefs to the gold standards of authentic global cuisine and delivering a unique, hands-on perspective of the tastes and traditions of world cuisines.
